I just found out that I too have it. Did you know that 80% of the American population have some form of HPV? Most don't even know it. Your doctor is right- it may very possibly go away on it's own, but it is considerable that you continually monitor it by visiting your doctor every six months. Thankfully there aren't plentiful symptoms. Actually, there are only two symptoms found within women- pre-cancerous cells and genital warts. Always one, never both.
It's nice to know that the virus isn't as crazy as other STD's, but it sucks to know that you hold to inform any future partners that you are infected, since it is contracted through skin to skin contact. And though condoms will stop possibility of passing it to your partner, they don't eliminate it. As of immediately, there is no way to experiment men for HPV so most infected men don't have any idea that they even hold it, unless they find warts.
The way I see it, it could other be worse and this too will most likely pass, so there's no call for for worry. :)
don't drive yourself crazy. I also have High risk HPV and hold had it for 2 yrs i since have have a baby and all my check ups hold been alright. all my paps. Its strange cause i got tested for HPV bring they were offering gift certificate for this study. If i wouldn't of done that i would have never known motive my paps are normal. They say it does clear up on its own allot of times. So don't verbs.
whats HPV?
Yes there is a honest chance that it will go away on its own. I myself have the HPV. It's now gone. I also had a cryosurgery to freeze my precancerous cell. That has now cleared up. I used to hold my pap every 4 months to make sure it's clear. Now it is cleared up, I take my pap every year in a minute. By the way for those who don't know HPV stands for Humanpapillomavirus Infection.
Basically this funds you need to go to the gynecologist once a year so they can net sure it either goes away on its own or get cut out if it starts looking precancerous. If you do this, there's very little risk of it developing into something more serious.
If you have HPV you should be on meds, it doesn't merely go away on its own...go to another doctor for their judgment.
